On May 13th, 2025, 14:00-15:30 CET, our next HealthFerm webinar will be organised on Consumer Behavior Towards Plant Based Fermented Foods in Europe.

We are pleased to invite you to the next HealthFerm webinar, which will explore consumer behavior around fermented foods and examine the potential of citizen science in shaping future food systems. This session will provide fresh perspectives on how people engage with fermentation both culturally and practically, and how this knowledge contributes to ongoing scientific research.

The speakers will be:

  • Maxime Michaud, Research Group Leader in Social Science, will open the session with a presentation on the cultural and social dimensions of fermentation in
    "Ethnographics of Fermented Foods"

  • Prof. Armando Perez-Cueto from the Arctic Centre at Umeå University, and Head of the Sustainable Food Transitions Research Group, will present results from the HealthFerm multi-country survey in
    "Consumers and Plant-Based Fermented Foods"
    Prof. Perez-Cueto also serves as Arctic Six Chair 2024–2026.

  • Helene Christine Reinbach, Ph.D., Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen, Department of Food Science (Section for Food Design and Consumer Behaviour), will share insights on home fermentation practices across Europe in
    "Profiling European Home Fermenters: Insights from the HealthFerm Project"
